The Nationwide Affiliation of Boat Surveyors and Examiners. I am a member of this new and vibrant organisation and a principal benefit of choosing a member is that you will be guaranteed a consistent approach to the Examination. The members are kept up to date with developments taking place in the Boat Safety Scheme, many of them to the owner's advantage and we are better placed to pass these benefits on to you. We actively encourage Boaters to visit the web site and contribute to our 'Owners Forums'. Together with Boating associations affiliated to us we aim to improve the whole Boat Safety Scheme for the benefit of everyone.
The Institution of Engineering and Technology. A very diverse site containing a wealth of engineering knowledge. As an Incorporated Engineer it is where I keep abreast of new developments in technology and where i go to remind myself what made us so great, as engineers, in the UK
The Norman Boats Appreciation Society. The range of 'Norman' boats, so solidly built in the 1970's, are still very popular and it is testament to the quailty that many are still around today. My first cruiser was a 'Norman Conquest' and this society is a very friendly bunch of owners and ex-owners of 'Norman' Boats. Be prepared for some humour and banter on the forum but, it is particularly useful for any new owner of a 'Norman'. Find answers to problems you never even thought of or maybe you have some advice or opinions to offer.
The Viking Owners Club. Similar to the 'Norman' site, another friendly group of owners of another very popular boat seen in dozens around my neck of the woods on the River Trent & surrounding rivers and canals. There are some excellent second hand vikings around for anyone thinking of taking to the water. Simple but spacious and well finished a Viking is a good choice for cruising
